I am in my final year at the Natural Sciences and Mathematics High School in Dubrovnik, and I want to study medicine. I have three sisters (2, 5, and 9 years younger), the youngest of whom has Down syndrome. I am a certified youth animator, so I often work with children and really enjoy it. As an animator, I’ve learned various games and dances for children, as well as how to entertain them, keep them engaged, and calm them down. I help look after children during science workshops, and this summer I led a four-day science workshop for primary school students at a summer camp. In general, I have a lot of experience giving lessons, helping with homework, and tutoring.I am a regular volunteer with the Red Cross, and for the past two years I’ve been working at first-aid stations through the “Red Cross in the City” project. I am trained to provide and teach first aid, and during my work I have dealt with many accidents and injuries. Throughout the year, as part of volunteering, I visit primary schools and kindergartens with first-aid workshops and lessons about earthquakes and crisis situations.
By taking care of children, I’ve learned responsibility and seriousness, but I’ve also developed a deep love for them. Apart from children, I also enjoy various games such as chess and bridge. I love reading and writing most of all, but I also like knitting and crocheting. I enjoy rollerblading and swimming throughout the year, except in winter.
