My approach varies from student to student—some need more attention, while others don’t want it but could still benefit from a bit of “training wheels” support. As a student myself, I’m not too far removed from my own school days, so I can relate to the whole spectrum of struggles and learning moments. I’d start with the exercises that give you trouble (your workbook/problem sets), and then we’d see whether we need to expand the pool of practice material.
I’ve tutored classmates and friends ever since primary school, and at one point I needed tutoring myself—so I understand things from both sides. I graduated from V. Gymnasium, and I’m currently studying at FER. Even though I don’t have much free time, I could set aside a few hours each week.
